RELATED: Genshin Impact: Best Team Compositions For Klee
Klee is a five-star character and is only available during character event wishes. Anyone lucky enough to pull her could do well to add her to their teams. To maximize her potential, she’ll need to ascend and have her talents upgraded. Here’s everything needed to do both of those things.
Leveling Materials
Klee, like every Vision-holder in Genshin Impact, needs over 8 million EXP to reach the max level of 90. Here’s how much is needed between each ascension level, and the Mora cost:
Any combination of EXP materials can be used, but there’s a bit wasted if an ascension level is reached with extra EXP. Here’s one efficient combination that has a reduced amount of wasted EXP overall:
Klee Ascension Items
To completely ascend Klee, it’s going to take quite a few items, as well as a small fortune in Mora. This chart outlines everything needed to ascend Klee, as well as the totals at the bottom:
Gemstones - Where to Find Agnidus Agate
As a Pyro character, Klee uses the elemental Pyro gem, Agnidus Agate. These special gemstones can be purchased from souvenir shops in Liyue Harbor and Mondstadt or earned by completing daily commissions for the Adventurers’ Guild. They can also be created with the Parametric Transformer. However, most of them will come from defeating bosses — both weekly bosses and standard bosses.
These bosses can grant Agnidus Agate as a reward:
La Signora Azhdaha Andrius Pyro Hypostasis Pyro Regisvine Primo Geovishap
Enemy Drop - Where to Find Samachurl Scrolls
Klee is a small magician, which makes it very fitting that she’ll use the drops from Samachurls to ascend. These scrolls can drop from Samachurls of any element, but better drops only come from higher-leveled enemies, as follows:
Divining Scroll: any level Samachurl Sealed Scroll: Level 40+ Samachurls Forbidden Curse Scroll: Level 60+ Samachurls
Like most character ascension materials, they can also be purchased from Paimon’s Bargains using Starglitter and Stardust.
Boss Drop - How to Get Everflame Seeds
There are a handful of Pyro characters that use a boss drop from Liyue’s Pyro Regisvine, and Klee is one of them. Defeating this boss will reward a couple of Everflame Seeds, meaning it’ll need to be defeated several times to totally ascend Klee (or any other character that uses this material).
The Pyro Regisvine is found in Liyue, specifically at Cuijue Slope, southeast of Jueyun Karst.

Local Specialty - Where to Find Philanemo Mushrooms
These strange fungi are only found in Mondstadt, and they’re used by Barbara, Klee, and Mona to ascend. Most of them can be found around the city of Mondstadt, Dawn Winery, and the town of Springvale. Check under the eaves of buildings in these three areas and on the sides of the windmills in these areas of Mondstadt.
Chloris, the young girl that roams around Windrise, will sell Philanemo Mushrooms, too. She sells five at a time for 1,000 Mora each. She’ll restock them every three days.
Unfortunately, Philanemo Mushrooms cannot be grown in the Serenitea Pot. Bummer.
Klee Talent Materials
Klee is constantly getting in trouble with the Knights of Favonius and being given rules, so it’s a bit ironic that the poor girl uses the Freedom series of talent books. In addition, she uses more Samachurl Scrolls, an Andrius drop, and some Crowns of Insight. Here’s everything she needs per talent, as well as the totals multiplied by three, since Klee has there upgradeable talents:
Talent Books - Freedom
The Freedom talent book series that Klee uses is also used by several other characters, including the Traveler, Tartaglia, Amber, Aloy, Sucrose, Barbara, and Diona. While they can be gained from chests, special events, the Parametric Transformer, and some other sources, the bulk of them will come from their corresponding domain challenge.
Freedom books are awarded for clearing the Forsaken Rift domain on Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
Trounce Material - Ring of Boreas
The trounce mat that Klee uses is the Ring of Boreas. These can be obtained by defeating Andrius in the Wolf of the North challenge, available as a weekly boss in Wolvendom. To unlock this boss, players will need to finish Razor’s Story Quest.
Crowns of Insight
Crowns of Insight are extremely rare items that every character needs to upgrade a talent from level 9 to level 10. They’re sometimes rewarded during special time-limited events, but a few can be earned by making offerings to Narukami Island’s Sacred Sakura and Dragonspine’s Frostbearing Tree.
Genshin Impact is available on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices, with a Nintendo Switch version in development.
